A brazen burglary in Ghaziabad's Vijaynagar locality has left residents shaken after a thief spent between 90 minutes to two hours methodically searching a three-storey home while the family slept inside.
The incident occurred late at night when the home was occupied by a couple and their three children. Despite the burglar's extended presence, no family member woke during the intrusion. The thief systematically ransacked cupboards and safes across all three floors, making off with cash and jewelry including gold and silver ornaments.
The brazen nature of the theft—with the perpetrator remaining inside the residence for such an extended period while occupants slept—has raised concerns about residential security in the area. Police have recovered CCTV footage showing the suspect fleeing the property, which is being used to identify and apprehend the burglar.
Authorities have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident. Residents in the neighborhood have been advised to strengthen security measures at their homes.
