Gundla Pravalika, a conductor employed with the Manuguru depot of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC), succumbed to her injuries on the tenth day following the assault. She was pushed off a bus by a passenger in an altercation that occurred during her shift.

The incident underscores the vulnerability of public transport workers who face regular harassment and violence while performing their duties. Conductors across state-run and private bus networks frequently encounter hostile passengers, yet systemic protections remain inadequate in many cases.

The circumstances surrounding the assault and the passenger's identity are still being investigated by local authorities. The TSRTC has not yet issued an official statement regarding disciplinary action or support measures for affected staff members.

Pravalika's death has drawn attention to the occupational hazards faced by bus conductors and other transport workers, particularly women, in South India. Worker safety advocates have called for enhanced security measures, better training for conflict de-escalation, and stricter enforcement of penalties against perpetrators of violence on public transport.
