Butuan City's air quality showed modest improvement Sunday as particulate matter concentrations decreased from earlier readings, according to the city government's latest assessment. Monitoring stations across the city recorded PM2.5 levels Sunday morning that fell within the unhealthy range for sensitive groups, marking a slight decline from previous measurements.
The two city monitoring stations documented PM2.5 levels at 8 a.m. Sunday that, while improved, still pose health risks to vulnerable populations. City officials cautioned residents with asthma, heart disease, and other respiratory conditions to limit outdoor activities and take necessary health precautions.
The persistent haze affecting the Agusan del Norte capital continues to hamper visibility and air conditions across the city. Authorities have not disclosed the source of the pollution or provided projections for further improvement in the coming days.
