BYD has unveiled a specially-equipped variant of its Sealion 7 electric SUV, emphasizing safety and range as key differentiators in the competitive EV segment. The vehicle is equipped with 11 airbags across its cabin, positioning it among the most comprehensively protected electric vehicles available.
The Sealion 7 incorporates BYD's Cell-to-Body (CTB) technology, an advanced structural integration system that enhances both safety and interior space efficiency. This manufacturing approach distributes impact forces more effectively throughout the vehicle's frame during collisions.
Additional safety and performance features include Intelligent Torque Adoption Control (iTAC) technology, which optimizes traction and stability across varying driving conditions. The SUV delivers an estimated driving range of 567 kilometers on a full charge, addressing range anxiety concerns among potential buyers.
The automaker has announced that this special edition variant will be produced in limited quantities, with only 150 units available for sale. This scarcity strategy typically positions the model as a premium offering within BYD's lineup, potentially commanding higher pricing than standard Sealion 7 variants.
