BYD Seal driver to face charges over fatal Jalan Kuching pile-up

The driver of a BYD Seal is scheduled to be charged tomorrow in connection with a multi-vehicle accident on Jalan Kuching that resulted in the death of a young child and injuries to multiple other road users.

The collision, which involved six vehicles, occurred when the BYD Seal collided with a second vehicle, killing a five-year-old girl who was a passenger in that car. The impact of the initial collision then triggered a chain-reaction pile-up involving the remaining vehicles at the scene.

According to reports, the BYD Seal driver fled the scene immediately following the crash. Police subsequently tracked down and apprehended the driver, who will now face three charges related to the incident.

The case highlights ongoing safety concerns on major thoroughfares in the capital region and serves as a reminder of the severe consequences of traffic violations and failure to remain at accident scenes. Investigations into the exact circumstances of the collision remain ongoing.
