Ca Mau Province is preparing for its second annual shrimp festival, an event designed to highlight the region's position as a leading aquaculture hub in Vietnam. The three-day festival will provide a platform for industry stakeholders to display products, facilitate business connections, and introduce visitors to the province's seafood heritage.
Organizers anticipate robust attendance, with projections ranging from 8,000 to 10,000 visitors expected throughout the festival period. The event underscores Ca Mau's significance in Vietnam's shrimp production landscape, particularly as national shrimp exports reached 3.3 billion USD during the first eight months of this year, demonstrating the sector's economic importance.
Beyond commercial objectives, the festival serves broader development goals for Ca Mau. The province has been strengthening cooperation with international partners, including the World Bank, to advance sustainable fisheries practices and environmental stewardship in aquaculture operations.
The shrimp industry remains a cornerstone of Ca Mau's economy, contributing significantly to the province's agricultural and fishery output. The festival represents efforts to build on this foundation while promoting responsible production methods that balance economic growth with environmental sustainability.
