Cabinet Expected to Approve Higher Minimum Support Prices for Rabi Crops

NEW DELHI — The government is poised to announce a significant agricultural policy decision, with the Modi Cabinet and Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs expected to approve higher minimum support prices (MSP) for key rabi crops.

The proposed increase would benefit farmers cultivating six winter-season crops, a move that comes as agricultural incomes have faced pressure from volatile commodity prices and input costs. The decision, if approved, would represent a direct intervention in farm economics at a critical juncture in the agricultural calendar.
