Cabinet to decide on Formula 1 return to Sepang after November report

Malaysia's Cabinet will determine whether to pursue the return of Formula 1 racing to Sepang after reviewing findings from a multi-ministry task force examining the viability of hosting the prestigious motorsports event. The committee has been tasked with evaluating the costs and benefits associated with re-establishing the Grand Prix at the circuit located south of Kuala Lumpur. Officials are assessing both the financial implications and logistical requirements needed to mount a competitive bid for the event. The comprehensive report, scheduled for completion in November, will serve as the basis for Cabinet deliberations on whether to move forward with plans to resurrect Malaysia's presence on the Formula 1 calendar. Malaysia last hosted the Formula 1 Grand Prix in 2017, with the Sepang circuit having been a fixture on the international racing circuit since 1999. The decision will hinge on demonstrating sufficient economic returns and operational capacity to justify the investment required to host a world-class motorsports event.
