CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — The City Information Office has issued a health advisory as temperatures in the city are expected to reach potentially dangerous levels over the next two days. According to the forecast released Thursday, the heat index is projected to reach 37°C on Friday and spike further to 39°C on Saturday, October 17.

The elevated temperatures pose significant health risks, particularly for vulnerable populations including children, elderly residents, and those with existing health conditions. City officials emphasized the importance of taking preventive measures during the sweltering period.

Residents have been advised to limit outdoor activities during peak heat hours, stay hydrated by drinking adequate amounts of water, and seek air-conditioned spaces when possible. The advisory also recommends wearing light-colored, loose-fitting clothing and using appropriate sun protection when venturing outdoors.

The City Information Office called on the public to monitor weather updates closely and heed all safety recommendations issued by local health authorities in the coming days.
