LUCENA CITY — Law enforcement authorities in the Calabarzon region have ramped up security measures ahead of the Undas holiday, with the Police Regional Office-4A (PRO-4A) placing more than 12,297 personnel on full alert across the five-province jurisdiction.
The large-scale deployment covers Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon provinces, with officers assigned to key locations and thoroughfares expected to experience heavy traffic and foot traffic during November 1-2, when Filipinos traditionally visit cemeteries to honor their deceased relatives.
The PRO-4A mobilization aims to maintain order, prevent criminal activities, and manage traffic congestion as families navigate to burial grounds and memorial sites throughout the region. The police presence is intended to provide reassurance to the public during one of the year's busiest travel periods.
Authorities have coordinated with local government units and cemetery administrators to implement the security plan. The deployment reflects standard operational procedures undertaken annually to protect public welfare during major holidays and religious observances in the region.
