Calabarzon measles-rubella vaccination campaign passes halfway target

LUCENA CITY — The measles-rubella vaccination drive across Calabarzon has crossed the 50-percent mark in its immunization target, the Department of Health regional office announced Friday.
Data from the DOH showed that 690,417 children representing 51.7 percent of the target population had received measles-rubella vaccines as of Friday evening, August 28. The inoculation campaign aims to reach a total of 1,335,685 beneficiaries across the four-province region encompassing Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, and Quezon.
The milestone indicates accelerating momentum in the regional immunization effort, which seeks to boost protection against measles and rubella among the region's youth. Health officials said the campaign remains on track to meet its broader immunization objectives.
