Calabarzon minimum wage workers to receive up to P45 daily increase
Over 1.56 million workers in the Calabarzon region will benefit from a wage hike effective Oct. 26 following approval of a new wage order by regional authorities.

MANILA — The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB 4A) has approved Wage Order No. IVA-23, granting daily wage increases of up to P45 to minimum wage earners across Calabarzon, the industrial heartland south of Metro Manila.
The new wage order takes effect on Oct. 26 and is expected to benefit more than 1.56 million workers in the Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon (Calabarzon) region. The adjustment represents a significant increase for the region's lowest-paid workers.
The wage board's decision follows standard procedures for regional wage-setting in the Philippines, where employers, workers, and government representatives convene to determine appropriate compensation levels based on economic conditions and cost of living factors.
Calabarzon, home to numerous manufacturing and industrial facilities, employs a substantial portion of the Philippines' minimum wage workforce. The wage increase is anticipated to boost household incomes across the region and support consumer spending in local economies.
