CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — The municipal government has completed the turnover of land allocations and relief payments to residents displaced by demolition operations in Barangay Guinobatan, providing resolution to a protracted real estate dispute that affected the community.
The relocation program represents the local government's response to the housing needs created by the demolition. Officials distributed free residential lots to affected residents alongside financial assistance, intended to facilitate their resettlement.
According to municipal records, the property dispute had involved approximately 294 families, with 200 households receiving allocations under the current distribution program. The prolonged litigation had delayed relief efforts for the displaced residents.
City officials characterized the distribution as a significant step toward resolving the longstanding conflict. The provision of residential land and financial aid aims to help affected families rebuild their homes and restore stability following the demolition.
