Calapan launches Mimaropa's first unified 911 emergency response hotline

CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — The city government of Calapan will formally inaugurate a centralized 911 emergency hotline on Friday, marking a significant advancement in the region's disaster response and public safety infrastructure. The unified emergency number will consolidate rapid-response coordination for all types of emergencies within the city's jurisdiction. Officials said the new system is designed to expedite emergency services deployment and improve response times across multiple city agencies and responders. The initiative represents the first implementation of a dedicated 911 system in the Mimaropa region, which encompasses the provinces of Marinduque, Mindoro, Palawan, and Romblon. The hotline will serve as a centralized contact point for residents experiencing medical emergencies, fires, criminal incidents, and other urgent situations requiring immediate intervention.
