California's 128-year-old church transforms into cultural community hub

The church, originally constructed in 1898, has been transferred by its longtime owners John and Rebecca Prewett after 128 years of operation.

The historic building will be repurposed to serve multiple functions within the local community. Plans call for its conversion into a museum space, an event venue for community gatherings, and a visitor information centre branded as "Visit Nipomo." Notably, the donation does not disrupt existing religious activities at the site. Calvary Church will continue to conduct Sunday services within the building, ensuring that the structure's spiritual purpose remains intact alongside its emerging role as a cultural and community facility.
