Cambodia exports 15 million tonnes of farm produce in ten months

Cambodia's agricultural sector has demonstrated significant export momentum, with shipments totaling 15 million tonnes during a ten-month period, according to officials from the agriculture ministry. The figures reflect the country's growing role as a regional agricultural supplier and underscore efforts to enhance competitiveness in international markets.

Cambodian agriculture authorities have emphasized the importance of upgrading product quality and expanding production capacity to satisfy the stringent requirements of overseas buyers. The focus on these improvements aims to strengthen Cambodia's position in global supply chains and attract premium prices for its commodities.

The country's push to enhance agricultural capabilities has drawn support from multilateral development partners. The United Nations's Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) are collaborating with Cambodia to fortify rural agricultural systems. Meanwhile, Cambodia has also sought FAO assistance in bolstering early warning mechanisms for agricultural risks.

Environmental considerations are also shaping Cambodia's agricultural strategy. The nation has committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, signaling a move toward more sustainable farming practices alongside its export expansion objectives.
