Cambodia spends over $70 million annually on coffee imports

Cambodia's coffee import bill has reached over $70 million annually, underscoring the country's dependence on foreign supplies to satisfy local consumption and industrial needs, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.

The kingdom imports roughly 10,000 tonnes of coffee beans each year, drawing from a diverse network of global suppliers. Vietnam remains the primary source of Cambodia's imported coffee, followed by regional partners Thailand and Laos. The country also sources significant quantities from more distant suppliers including France, Italy, the United States, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, and Australia.

The scale of Cambodia's coffee imports reflects growing consumption patterns in the country and regional demand for the commodity. Coffee plays an important role in Cambodia's food and beverage sector, supporting cafes, restaurants, and hospitality businesses across the nation.
