Cambodia has announced plans to host three significant sporting events as part of its broader commitment to regional development and integration within ASEAN. The hosting arrangements underscore the country's growing role in fostering athletic excellence and cross-border cooperation across Southeast Asia.

The Kingdom will first welcome the ASEAN University Games in 2028, followed by the Asian Youth Para Games in 2029. These events are expected to draw thousands of young athletes from across the region and beyond, showcasing Cambodia's capacity to organize large-scale international sporting competitions.

The 2031 ASEAN Youth Games will represent the final major event in Cambodia's three-year hosting calendar. The successive tournaments reflect Cambodia's strategic efforts to deepen sports diplomacy and strengthen bilateral and multilateral relationships with neighboring nations.

Hosting major sporting events typically generates significant economic benefits for host nations, including infrastructure development, tourism revenue, and enhanced international visibility. Cambodia's participation in this sporting calendar aligns with ASEAN's broader agenda of promoting regional connectivity and people-to-people exchanges through athletic competition.
