Can Tho reburially honors 120 sets of martyrs' remains

Authorities in Can Tho have completed the reburial of 120 sets of martyrs' remains, marking another significant milestone in the country's ongoing efforts to honor those who died in past conflicts. The remains were recovered from Dong Phuoc and Thoi Lai communes through coordinated search and recovery operations. A temporary search team operating under the Can Tho Military Command, working alongside Team K90 from the Political Department of Military Region 9, conducted the excavation and initial processing of the remains. The reburial ceremony reflects Vietnam's commitment to identifying and properly honoring fallen soldiers and civilians. The effort aligns with broader national initiatives to account for all martyrs' remains, particularly those from the American War and other historical conflicts. Across the country, similar recovery and identification operations continue to accelerate. In Tuyen Quang Province, authorities recently reburied remains of 93 additional martyrs. Nationally, DNA testing capacity has been significantly expanded, with laboratories now capable of processing samples to identify over 207,000 martyrs' remains. Military aircraft have transported approximately 15,401 samples to Hanoi for advanced DNA analysis, supporting efforts to reunite remains with families and ensure proper recognition of those who sacrificed their lives.
