SIBAGAT, AGUSAN DEL SUR — Police arrested the region's most wanted suspect on Friday night, ending a manhunt for a man accused of multiple sexual offenses against a minor. The suspect, identified as a 49-year-old resident of Sibagat, was taken into custody at 9:34 p.m. following an operation by the Sibagat police force.
Brig. Gen. Rolindo Suguilon, director of the Philippine National Police Regional Office-13, confirmed the arrest and the severity of charges facing the detainee. The suspect is accused of nine counts of rape involving a minor victim, representing one of the more serious criminal cases in the Caraga region.
The arrest concludes an extended search operation for the suspect, who had evaded authorities across the Caraga administrative region. He is currently in custody pending further legal proceedings and formal charges before the appropriate courts.
