Carrick stated he has not contemplated his job security in the aftermath of the lopsided loss, choosing instead to concentrate on addressing the performance issues that led to the result. The Manchester United boss characterized the defeat as 'unacceptable' but maintained his resolve despite the heavy scoreline in the Champions League encounter.
The Italian side Como's comprehensive victory marked a significant setback for United's European campaign, raising questions about the team's consistency and defensive solidity. However, Carrick's comments suggest he views the loss as a temporary setback rather than a threat to his tenure at Old Trafford.
