Causeway Link buses to go cashless from mid-August

Causeway Link, the operator of cross-border bus services between Singapore and Malaysia, will implement a cashless payment system across services departing from Newton and Queen Street terminals starting August 20.

The move marks a shift towards digital payment methods for the popular transport route connecting Singapore to Johor Bahru. Passengers will be required to use electronic payment options for on-board transactions from the specified date onwards.

For commuters who prefer to pay with cash, Causeway Link has advised purchasing tickets at the terminals before boarding. This option will remain available at ticket counters ahead of departure, allowing cash-paying customers to complete their transactions in advance.

The transition aligns with broader regional efforts to reduce reliance on physical currency and streamline payment processes across public transport networks. Passengers are encouraged to familiarise themselves with available digital payment methods ahead of the August 20 implementation date.
