MANILA—Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano has gracefully accepted Senator Mark Villar's move to the Senate majority, saying the minority bloc wishes him well as he makes the transition.

"As we continue to pray for our country, we wish Senator Mark Villar and all our colleagues well," Cayetano said in a statement released Thursday via Facebook.

Villar's shift to the majority bloc marks another realignment in the upper chamber, though Cayetano indicated that such political movements do not diminish the minority's commitment to its responsibilities.

"Our duty remains unchanged," Cayetano added, underscoring the Senate minority's continued focus on its legislative agenda despite the departure of one of its members.

The move reflects the fluid political dynamics within the Senate, where lawmakers frequently adjust their positions in response to shifting political alliances and priorities.
