The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has granted approval for Cyient Limited to acquire 100 per cent of the share capital of TAO Digital Solutions Inc, marking a significant consolidation move in the technology services sector. The acquisition was first announced by the Hyderabad-based firm in May this year following the execution of a definitive agreement with TAO Digital's existing shareholders.
Cyient Limited provides engineering and technology services across multiple sectors, including aerospace and defence, automotive, rail transportation, healthcare, life sciences, semiconductors, energy, utilities, communications, and spatial solutions. The acquisition of TAO Digital Solutions is expected to expand Cyient's capabilities in artificial intelligence-driven data and product engineering, positioning the company to serve evolving client needs in these domains.
The CCI's approval follows standard regulatory review procedures and clears the final major hurdle for the transaction's completion. The combined entity is anticipated to leverage complementary strengths in technology services and AI-native solutions to enhance its competitive positioning in the global market.
