CEBU CITY — Cebu province has confirmed cases of African swine fever (ASF) in Ginatilan municipality, marking the first reported outbreak in the region since 2021. The detection has triggered immediate response measures from local government units to contain the highly contagious disease.

Provincial and municipal authorities have enacted comprehensive control protocols to prevent further transmission. These measures include restricting the movement of pigs and pork products across municipal and provincial borders, suspending livestock trading activities, and implementing enhanced border checkpoints.
