The Nifty Cement index advanced 1.3 per cent to 15,057.10 during mid-morning trade on Wednesday, significantly outperforming the broader market. The sectoral strength contrasted with the NSE benchmark Nifty 50, which declined 0.24 per cent during the same period.
Several major cement producers led the gains. Ramco Cement, Dalmia Bharat, Shree Cement, JK Cement and ACC were among the top performers, with individual stocks climbing as much as 5 per cent. The broad-based rally across the cement sector suggested renewed investor confidence in the industry.
The outperformance of cement stocks comes as the sector continues to benefit from infrastructure development and construction activity across India. Cement demand remains a key indicator of economic momentum, particularly given the ongoing emphasis on capital expenditure and infrastructure projects.
Analysts have been monitoring cement sector performance closely, with stock movements often reflecting expectations around demand trends, input costs and pricing dynamics in the near term.
