Census advancement planned for four poll-bound states ahead of 2025 elections

The Central government has advanced the Census operations in four states set to hold assembly elections in the first quarter of 2025. Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Punjab and Uttarakhand will see the Census exercise moved forward to accommodate the election schedule, ensuring the nationwide statistical exercise is completed prior to the electoral process.
