Domestic workers in Central Visayas will receive a P500 monthly salary increase starting October under a newly issued wage order from the Department of Labor and Employment. The wage adjustment, formalized through Wage Order No. ROVII-DW-06, applies to kasambahays across the region, including workers in Negros Oriental and other Central Visayas provinces. The move comes as part of ongoing government initiatives to enhance living standards for domestic workers, who comprise a significant portion of the region's informal labor force. The wage order establishes new minimum monthly compensation rates for the sector, reflecting adjustments to the cost of living and inflation pressures affecting households throughout Central Visayas.
