Centre announces major gubernatorial reshuffle across five Indian states

The Ministry of Home Affairs announced a major overhaul of gubernatorial postings on Tuesday, moving five senior officials to new positions across the country. R.N. Arlekar has been elevated to serve as full-time Governor of Tamil Nadu, replacing his previous arrangement, while Sudha Yadav transitions from her current posting to assume office as Governor of Karnataka.

O.P. Mathur has been appointed Governor of Kerala, bringing his considerable experience to the southern state. In eastern India, Braj Mohan Ram will take charge as Governor of Odisha, while Dhal Singh Bisen assumes the role of Governor of Uttarakhand. Former BJP general secretary Dushyant Gautam has been named Governor of Sikkim, marking a significant diplomatic posting in India's northeastern region.

The reshuffle reflects the government's periodic reorganization of constitutional posts to streamline administrative governance across states. All appointees are expected to take charge of their respective positions following formal swearing-in ceremonies. The postings come as part of routine administrative management within the Union's gubernatorial structure.
