Centre open to returning vacant NEET-SS seats to Tamil Nadu doctors

The Centre has indicated its readiness to hand back unoccupied National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Super-Speciality (NEET-SS) seats to the Tamil Nadu government during proceedings before the Supreme Court. The development marks a potential resolution to an ongoing controversy surrounding the allocation and utilization of postgraduate medical positions in the state.

According to submissions made before the apex court, the Union government had previously transferred 152 seats to Tamil Nadu as part of efforts to address healthcare workforce gaps.
