Centre pledges support for flood-hit Bihar families, assesses damage

A Union Minister conducted an on-ground assessment of flood-affected areas in Bihar, visiting Hajipur, Bhagalpur and surrounding regions to evaluate the scale of damage and humanitarian needs. Following the inspection, the Minister assured that no family in the affected areas would be left without government support, underscoring the Centre's commitment to relief and rehabilitation efforts.

According to the preliminary findings from the ministerial visit, the flooding has impacted over 50 lakh residents across the state. The scale of displacement and damage has prompted immediate central government intervention to coordinate relief operations and identify priority areas for assistance.

A Central government team has been tasked with conducting a detailed review of the flood situation across affected districts. This assessment will form the basis for determining the quantum and distribution of financial aid to affected families and damaged infrastructure. Officials indicated that aid disbursement will be calibrated based on the team's findings and damage evaluations.

State authorities are coordinating with the Central team to ensure rapid compilation of ground-level data necessary for expedited assistance. The focus remains on providing immediate relief to displaced populations while assessing long-term rehabilitation requirements in the flood-ravaged regions.
