The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has reactivated the Sahara Refund Portal to expedite settlement of pending claims from investors who deposited funds with the Sahara group. The restoration aims to process approximately 2 million outstanding refund applications that have accumulated in the system.
The refund mechanism operates on a fully digital, paperless platform designed to ensure transparent and efficient claim processing. The system leverages Aadhaar-enabled e-KYC verification to authenticate depositor identities and cross-reference personal information with existing society records.
Eligible claimants can now submit or track their refund applications through the portal. The verification process involves matching depositor credentials, membership details, and bank account information against Sahara society records to confirm eligibility and prevent fraudulent claims.
