Centre urges Kerala to expedite decision on PM SHRI school scheme

The Centre has requested Kerala to accelerate its decision-making process regarding the PM SHRI scheme, which aims to establish a network of high-performing schools across the country. The initiative, launched by the Union government, seeks state participation to strengthen educational infrastructure and academic outcomes.

Keralas General Education Minister indicated that the state government would hold discussions among coalition partners before finalizing its position on the scheme. The UDF administration is reportedly examining the proposals terms and conditions to assess their alignment with the state's educational priorities and existing policies.

The PM SHRI scheme involves setting up schools to serve as models of excellence in their respective regions, with emphasis on modern teaching methodologies, skill development, and holistic education.
