KOTA BHARU — An eight-year-old boy who sustained severe injuries in a dog attack in Bachok has begun rabies treatment and is on the path to recovery, according to medical officials in Kelantan.
The child was set upon by a pack of five stray dogs, resulting in multiple wounds that required urgent medical attention. He was promptly transported to hospital where he received immediate care including wound treatment and post-exposure rabies prophylaxis vaccination.
Healthcare authorities have confirmed that the boy is responding positively to treatment so far. Medical staff continue to monitor his condition and wound healing progress as part of standard protocol following such incidents.
The attack has renewed concerns about stray dog populations in residential areas across the state. Local authorities have not yet announced measures regarding the pack of dogs involved in the mauling.
