Child rights body investigates measles deaths in Kerala's Malappuram district

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has initiated an investigation into measles deaths reported in Malappuram district in Kerala, requesting comprehensive documentation from state health authorities. The move comes amid growing concerns over preventable disease outbreaks in the region and underscores the critical importance of immunisation coverage across vulnerable populations.

The commission's inquiry will examine whether affected children had received measles vaccines within the prescribed timeframe and assess the effectiveness of the district's vaccination programme.
