China opens direct shipping corridor to Vietnam's Mekong Delta hub

The direct shipping route represents a significant development in regional logistics infrastructure, connecting Nanning Port in Guangxi Province with Cai Cui Port in Can Tho, Vietnam's largest city in the Mekong Delta region. The service leverages the newly operational Pinglu Canal, which provides a water corridor reducing transit times and operational costs for container shipments between the two trading hubs.

Can Tho serves as a critical commercial center for the Mekong Delta, one of Southeast Asia's most productive agricultural regions and an important gateway for international trade. The new direct connection is expected to facilitate increased bilateral trade and strengthen logistics ties between southern China and the Vietnamese delta region.
