China ramps up humanoid robot production with fully automated factory

China has significantly escalated its humanoid robot manufacturing capabilities with the opening of a new automated production facility operated by UBTECH. The factory represents a major advancement in robotic manufacturing, with robots actively participating in the assembly of additional units on the production line.

According to the company, the facility can produce a complete humanoid robot approximately every 10 minutes, translating to roughly six units per hour. This marks a substantial increase in production velocity compared to previous manufacturing operations. The factory is currently manufacturing robots from the Walker S and Cruzr series, which are designed for various commercial and service applications.

The facility has been engineered with an annual production capacity of approximately 10,000 humanoid robots. This scale of manufacturing demonstrates China's commitment to expanding its footprint in the global robotics sector. The integration of robots into their own assembly process reflects the increasing sophistication of automation technology and represents a significant step toward achieving cost-effective mass production of humanoid machines.

The development underscores China's strategic push in advanced manufacturing and artificial intelligence, sectors identified as crucial for future economic competitiveness across Asia and globally.
