China to fund reconstruction of Sri Lankan bridges damaged by Cyclone Ditwah
China and Sri Lanka have formalized a funding agreement to rebuild multiple bridges destroyed during Cyclone Ditwah. The pact was signed at the Ministry of Transport, Highways and Urban Development in Colombo on September 28.

The bilateral agreement was executed in the presence of Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Wei Huaxiang and the Secretary to the Ministry of Transport, Highways and Urban Development, cementing China's commitment to assist Sri Lanka's disaster recovery efforts.
Cyclone Ditwah caused extensive damage to Sri Lanka's infrastructure, with several critical bridges rendered unusable. The Chinese-funded initiative aims to restore connectivity across affected regions and facilitate the resumption of normal traffic flow.
