China urges US to abandon space warfare preparations

China's foreign ministry has issued a formal objection to United States military deployments and activities in space, raising fresh concerns about potential military escalation in the final frontier.

Official statements from Beijing specifically cautioned against the weaponisation of outer space and the risk of it becoming a theatre for armed conflict. The ministry expressed alarm at what it characterised as an emerging arms race in space, signalling Chinese displeasure at American defence initiatives targeting the orbital environment.
