Chinese humanoid robot clocks 9.47 seconds in 100m sprint

Chinese engineers have unveiled a humanoid robot capable of sprinting 100 metres in 9.47 seconds, besting the world record set by Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt nearly two decades ago. Bolt established his benchmark time of 9.58 seconds at the 2009 World Athletics Championships in Berlin, a mark that has defined human athletic excellence across the interval.

The robot, named Lightning, completed an official timed heat to register its record-breaking performance. The development represents a notable advancement in robotics technology and engineering capabilities, demonstrating progress in designing machines capable of executing complex physical movements with precision timing.
