Chinese Motorcycle Maker Sets Water Speed Record in Daring Feat

Zhang Xue, founder of Chinese motorcycle maker ZXMOTO, completed the record-breaking aquatic journey by traversing 40.74 kilometres of open water on a customised motorcycle. The achievement eclipses the previous Guinness World Record of 31.8 kilometres, demonstrating significant advances in vehicle engineering and water-surface technology.

The feat required extensive modifications to the standard motorcycle design to enable it to maintain buoyancy and traction across the water's surface. Such record attempts demand meticulous planning, specialised equipment, and rigorous testing to ensure both the vehicle's performance capabilities and the rider's safety.

Zhang's accomplishment highlights the innovative capabilities within China's automotive and motorcycle manufacturing sector, where engineers continue to push technical boundaries. The record serves as a testament to the possibilities of modified vehicle design when applied to unconventional challenges.

Ginness World Records has verified the achievement, cementing the new benchmark for long-distance water motorcycle rides. The previous record holder had covered 31.8 kilometres, making Zhang's additional 8.94 kilometres a substantial improvement to the standing record.
