Chokramudy restricts vehicle access, visitor permits amid flower bloom

The Chokramudy revenue land, recently opened to the public by the Forest Department to showcase the rare Neelakurinji bloom, has become the focus of stricter access protocols. The move comes after an influx of off-road vehicles were driven onto the protected area without authorisation, creating concerns over environmental damage and overcrowding.

Administration officials announced that visitors seeking entry to the reclaimed revenue land must now obtain prior permission, addressing the uncontrolled vehicular movement that accompanied the opening of the hill region.
