CID raids EPDP offices in Jaffna and Kayts
Sri Lankan police conducted search operations at the headquarters and branch office of the Eelam People's Democratic Party on Monday, acting on a warrant from the Jaffna Magistrate's Court.

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) carried out simultaneous searches at the EPDP's main office on Stanley Road in Jaffna's former Sridhar theatre building and its Kayts branch office. The operations were conducted under authority of a warrant issued by the Jaffna Magistrate's Court. Police personnel spent considerable time at both locations examining premises and documents during the Monday afternoon searches. The specific grounds for the investigation were not immediately disclosed by authorities. The EPDP, a political party with a significant presence in the Northern Province, has not yet issued a public statement regarding the operations.
