CJP alleges mass detentions in Haryana ahead of CM's Hisar visit

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has accused Haryana authorities of detaining its volunteers ahead of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini's scheduled visit to Hisar. CJP leader Sudhir Sangwan claimed that party workers were picked up without any advance notification, alleging a coordinated crackdown by state police.

The alleged arrests occurred as the organization extended its backing to ongoing student protests against the Common Eligibility Test (CET), a recruitment examination that has drawn significant opposition from job aspirants across northern India. The CJP's support for the student movement has made it a target for government action, according to party officials.

Sangwan did not specify the exact number of volunteers detained or provide details of the locations where arrests were made across the state. However, the party characterized the action as part of a broader effort to suppress dissent and prevent demonstrations during high-profile political events.

The Haryana government has not yet responded to the allegations. Student protests against the CET have intensified in recent weeks, with aspirants demanding the cancellation of the examination, citing concerns over the testing pattern and recruitment process.
