Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, both prominent figures in the CPI(M), have notified the Delhi Police Crime Branch that they will be unable to attend the scheduled interrogation session on Thursday, according to police sources. The notification was submitted to the investigative agency ahead of the scheduled appearance.
The two leaders were summoned by the Crime Branch as part of an ongoing investigation. However, in their communication to the police, Das and Ranka cited their inability to present themselves for the questioning on the scheduled date.
The reasons cited for their non-appearance were not immediately disclosed by either the police or the party officials. It remains unclear whether the leaders have requested an alternative date for their interrogation or provided specific grounds for their absence.
The Crime Branch investigation appears to be progressing through multiple questioning sessions. The police are expected to take cognizance of the notification and potentially reschedule the interrogation at a mutually convenient date, subject to the investigation's requirements.
