The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) has escalated its concerns over three missing party leaders by formally petitioning the Delhi Police Commissioner for information regarding their detention and current location. Party coordinator Abhijit Deepak, Saurav Das, and Ashutosh Ranka were reportedly taken into custody from an aircraft upon arrival in Delhi from Mumbai, but authorities have not disclosed their whereabouts since then.
According to the party's letter, the three leaders have been kept isolated from their families and legal representatives since their detention. The CJP has characterized this detention as unlawful incommunicado custody and raised concerns about the denial of basic due process rights to the detainees.
The party has demanded the immediate release of all three leaders and has called for clarification from police regarding the grounds for their detention. In their formal communication to police headquarters, CJP representatives have questioned the legality of holding individuals without informing their next of kin or providing access to counsel.
The incident marks an escalation in tensions between the regional political party and Delhi police authorities. No official statement has been issued by the Delhi Police regarding the detention or the allegations raised by the party.
