CleanMax raises ₹2,500 crore via green debt securities issuance

CleanMax Enviro Energy announced the successful completion of its green debt securities issuance on Monday, raising ₹2,500 crore through non-convertible debentures (NCDs) on a private placement basis. The offering comprised five tranches with maturity periods ranging from two to ten years and coupon rates between 8.25 per cent and 8.76 per cent under a fixed-rate structure.

The issuance drew participation from a broad investor base spanning international and domestic markets, demonstrating robust demand for green financing instruments. The debt securities were issued under CleanMax's green bond framework, with proceeds earmarked exclusively for large-scale renewable energy projects through a defined green-use-of-proceeds allocation.

The fundraising comes following an AA/stable credit rating assigned to CleanMax's corporate credit profile and NCD programme by Crisil in September. The green bond framework has undergone independent review by CareEdge Advisory to ensure compliance with applicable Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) regulations and the International Capital Market Association (ICMA) Green Bond Principles, 2025.

The capital infusion reflects CleanMax's expansion ambitions in India's renewable energy sector, which has emerged as a critical growth driver amid the country's energy security and decarbonization objectives.
