The transaction marks a significant consolidation of ownership at the west London club, which has undergone substantial changes since its previous proprietorship.
The investment firm, which has maintained a substantial stake in Chelsea since the club's ownership restructuring, will now hold complete control of the Premier League outfit. Financial terms of the buyout were not disclosed in the club's announcement.
Clearlake Capital Group's full ownership brings an end to the shared governance structure that had characterised Chelsea's recent management. The move is expected to streamline decision-making at the club as it continues operations in England's top division.
