CM directs standardised approach to school uniform procurement

The Chief Minister has directed officials to collect comprehensive feedback from students regarding school uniforms as part of a broader review of the government's uniform and student kit distribution systems. The initiative aims to ensure that procurement practices align with student needs and preferences across the state's educational institutions.

During a review meeting, Revanth Reddy assessed the current distribution mechanisms operated by various departments for uniforms and related student supplies. The assessment revealed the need for a more coordinated and standardised approach to the procurement and supply chain processes.

In response, the Chief Minister has instructed officials to prepare a Standard Operating Procedure for the procurement and distribution of uniforms and other student supplies ahead of the next academic year. The new framework is expected to streamline processes, reduce inefficiencies, and ensure consistent quality and timely delivery of materials to schools.

The move reflects the government's commitment to improving educational infrastructure and student welfare. By incorporating student feedback into the process, officials aim to create policies that better serve the needs of the student population while maintaining fiscal responsibility in government expenditure on education.
