CM's office will not be weaponized, says Karnataka's Shivakumar

Karnataka Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar on Monday asserted that the Chief Minister's office would not be deployed to cause damage to any individual or group. His remarks come ahead of his participation in a southern states conference scheduled for August 19 and 20 in Chennai.

The two-day conference will be chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, bringing together chief ministers and senior officials from southern Indian states to discuss matters of regional and national importance.

Shivakumar's statement underscores the government's commitment to ethical governance and the responsible exercise of executive authority. The Karnataka Chief Minister's attendance at the Chennai conclave is expected to provide a platform for addressing inter-state issues and coordinating on policy matters affecting the southern region.

The conference assumes significance given the rising emphasis on cooperative federalism and dialogue between the Union government and state administrations across the country.
